Just who are Green Day? Oh you didn't know? They are the greatest band of all time. Originally a punk band from Berkeley, CA, Green Day is now one of the top all around bands in America. They released their fifth album, Nimrod., in October, 1997. Green Day is an alternative rock band, that has put out 4 albums. Their first album was 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours, which came out in 1990 from Lookout Records. This contained the songs their previous EPs: 1,000 Hours, Slappy, and 39 Smooth. This is includes the song Green Day that they're named after. Their next album was Kerplunk!, from Lookout in 1991, which made them popular nation-wide. This included the song Sweet Children, which is the original name of the band. After Kerplunk!, Green Day went to Warner Brothers' Reprise Records, which was bigger than Lookout. Their first album with Reprise was Dookie, in 1994, which has sold over 8 million copies. After Dookie, Green Day's lead singer, Billie Joe Armstrong, got married and had a baby. Green Day was at Woodstock '94, and their performance turned into a mud fight after an audience member threw mud at Billie Joe, he caught it in his mouth, and threw it back. It resulted in people throwing more mud and running onto the stage. When security guards were trying to get the people off the stage, they "mistakenly" tried to throw Mike off as well, despite him saying that he was with the band. Their latest album with Reprise is Insomniac. Billie Joe says it is named Insomniac because most of it's songs were written during sleepless with his new baby. Since Insomniac, Tre has also gotten married.

Billie Joe Armstrong born in 1972 in Berkeley,California. He was the youngest of 6 kids. His dad was a Jazz Drummer and his mom an Elvis fan. He started singing at the age of 5 to children's hospitals and old people's homes. When Billie was 10 his dad died.Billie got married in 1994 and had a son in 1996. Mike Drint was actually born Michael Pritchard on May 4th 1972 in Berkeley,California. His mother was a heroin addict who gave her Mike up for adoption. At the age of 7 his adoptive parents divorced and he came back to his biological mom. When Mike was 10 he meet Billie Joe in the school cafeteria in 1982. But he left for good when he was 15 and moved in with Billie's family for a while before moving on to a squat in a building full of punk rockers. Mike married his girlfriend Anastasia in August of 1996, they now have a daughter named Estelle-Desiree born in April 1997. The pressures of being in Green Day have become to much for Mike and Anasasia's marriage to withstand and they are now seperated.
